The EMERGE Young Artists Program is a six-week pilot program with a vision to provide supplementary visual arts education centered around both mentorship and active art-making.
Classroom Collaboration fosters a partnership between Art Room and Fort Worth area middle school students and art teachers. The program implements an educational structure that brings studio practice and art-making directly into the classroom.
Art Room supports the local arts community through the availability of affordable and professional workspaces for the public. We invite multi-generational makers to create, experiment, and research at our Art Room Annex and gallery space. The Art Room Annex and gallery are open to the public on Fridays from 4:00 pm – 7:00 pm. During our open studios, artists, curators, and educators are invited to participate in by-monthly foundational drawing and painting classes, connect with like-minded makers through critiques and discussions, and explore the Art Room Library. If interested in investigating other media, please take a look at our Classes & Workshops schedule.
One of our goals at Art Room is to provide a space for students to have access to resources that foster the development as an artist, experimenter, and researcher. The Art Room Annex offers a workspace for innovative learning and discovery, and the Art Room Library cultivates exploration through literature and critical thinking. We have also provided an extensive list on our website for local, online, and print sources focused on visual arts.
