Dates:

Two-Week Class

Saturday | September 18 & 25, 2021

1:00 pm – 3:00 pm

Age:

Description:

Georgia O’Keeffe is a well-known artist whose work is rooted in feminism and introducing new perspectives of nature. This week students will understand O’Keeffe’s definition of “seeing.” Afterward, students will be encouraged to paint portraits of flowers that capture interesting perspectives of the flower. Students will also learn how specific elements of art (shape, color, value, space) work together to bring a piece to life.

In Week two of Learning from the masters, students view work from Vincent Van Gogh, and we will learn how to create texture and movement in our paintings.

Learning from the Masters will be held at the Fort Worth Community Arts Center (1300 Gendy St, Fort Worth, TX 76107). Art Room is currently the Fort Worth Community Arts Center Art Collective Resident.
