We seek out proposals from local, regional, and national emerging and mid-career artists and curators in a variety of media. Art Room exhibits solo, group, juried, and student shows in our 875-foot gallery space.​


Title of Show: TEN: Small Works Show


Submission Deadline: October 18, 2018​


Synopsis: Art Room invites entries to our TEN: Small Works Show in our exciting new gallery space in Near Southside Fort Worth, TX. We have recently become a 501(c)(3) non-profit to make room for art in the lives of multi-generational makers in the Fort Worth community through education, inspiration, and support. We are using this opportunity to celebrate local artists and to begin our commitment to scholarship and resources. 

Eligibility: Open to multigenerational makers. Work must be no more than 12 inches (12”) in any direction, including the framing or mounting. The size given for works should be the framed size. Height must be given before width regardless of whether the work is a vertical or horizontal piece. The artwork may represent any subject matter. All media—including oils, acrylics, watercolors, pastels, drawings, sculpture in any medium, collage, printmaking, photography—will be considered. Accepted work must be suitably framed and ready for hanging. Works on paper must be framed under plexiglass or glass—plexiglass is preferred. Please respect these eligibility requirements.

Terms of Sale: Art Room asks for your donation of artwork to develop our mission, with all proceeds from artwork sales going back into the organization and its programming. Non-donated artwork will be sold with the following commission/payment terms—Art Room: 40% (commission to Art Room), Artist: 60% (payment to the artist).


Art Room presents six exhibitions annually through creative curatorial practices. We support local, regional, and national emerging and mid-career artists and curators. Through calls for entries, proposals, and student work, we connect the community to contemporary art from diverse cultures and mediums. Solo/group exhibiting artists are asked to contribute to our Educate Programs, as well. Artists or curators are invited to give a gallery talk/lecture or workshop. Book signings are also welcome but in addition to the educational component. Please indicate your proposed educational element in your letter of intent.

All Art Room solo/group shows receive the following:

  • Email & Social Media Marketing

  • Postcard Marketing

  • Catalog Publication


We welcome proposals from artists and curators who wish to show solo and/or group exhibitions during the 2020 and 2021 exhibition seasons. All mediums are appreciated.

  • Brief Letter of Intent

    • Include name of artist(s), title of exhibition, & contact information

    • Description of show

    • Indicate your proposed Educate Program contribution

  • CV

  • Artist Statement

  • Samples of Artwork (15 to 20 images)

    • Please include title, medium, scale, and year


Important dates:

  • Submission Opens: December 8, 2018

  • Submission Deadline: June 1, 2019

  • Applicants Notified of Decision: Mid-July 2019

  • Exhibitions Take Place: 2020 – 2021

Art Room also welcomes proposals from individual student artists, as well as student groups who wish to show one to two-week solo and/or group exhibitions. Student Work Exhibition Proposals will be accepted and scheduled on a rolling basis and as our exhibition schedule allows. All mediums are appreciated.
