FOUR: A Collaborative Art Show
SEPTEMBER 10, 2016
The artwork in FOUR showcases a broad spectrum of mediums and styles ranging from sculptures in the round to digital paintings. The tie that binds the work together is the artist’s perception of reality. These are expressed through hyper-realism in Ammon and Dohoney’s paintings, to the delicate ephemeral quality conveyed in the elusive watercolors by Mohammadi. Archer, Luna, and Rowe are literally projecting their vision in their 3-D masterpieces and reliefs.
The bright mixture of mediums presented by the artists conveys a colorful balance within the artwork. Chuck and George's Wildflowers and Roadkill series is a colorful tongue in cheek play on Southern culture and domesticity. Liebergot and Duque are both exploring nature as a subject, though their choice of material is contrasting. Artists Hernandez and Cardoso take a more traditional approach to their paintings, finding inspiration from Caravaggio. With the creative alliance of Art Tooth, the display of artists and artwork in FOUR is unmatched.
