Date:

8-Week Class

Tuesdays: 6 - 9pm

April 2 - May 21st

Description:

Appropriate for beginner to intermediate level students.

Designed for those who have little or no experience in watercolor, this beginner course will focus on teaching students the unique qualities of watercolor painting as well as helping them become comfortable with basic watercolor techniques and materials. We will be working with a “limited” palette to encourage color mixing.

The course will include a discussion of materials, tools and basic techniques (as well as a few experimental ones). Also, we will explore our “artist’s eye” and how to best “see” our subjects and translate them into 2-dimensional form. The class is designed to be fun but informational and will aim to provide a relaxed environment in which students can learn to enjoy the process of watercolor and its sometimes serendipitous results.

Students will ideally leave the course able to begin and complete a watercolor painting on their own.
