Levels: Beginner to Advanced

4-Week Class

Tuesdays: 6 pm - 9 pm

September 3 - 24, 2019

Designed for all levels of experience in watercolor, this course will focus on both teaching students the unique qualities and techniques of watercolor painting as well as helping them to refine  them through a variety of compositions and approaches.  We will paint everything from still-lives to landscapes to botanicals.

The course will include a discussion of materials, tools and standard techniques (as well as a few experimental ones). Also, we will explore our “artist’s eye” and how to best “see” our subjects and translate them into 2-dimensional form. The class is designed to be fun but informational and will aim to provide a relaxed environment in which students can learn to enjoy the process of watercolor and its sometimes serendipitous results.

Students will leave the course able to independently plan, begin and execute a watercolor painting on their own.
