Synopsis: Art Room announces a call for entry for its annual juried exhibition, Now | Contemporary 2022. This exhibition invites accomplished artist and educator Tiffany Wolf Smith to act as the juror, who will select a compelling group of artworks to be exhibited at Art Fort Worth. All media—including oils, acrylics, watercolors, pastels, drawings, sculpture in any medium, collage, printmaking, photography—will be considered.

 

2022 Juror Information: Tiffany Wolf Smith is an artist and educator based out of Fort Worth, TX. The daughter of humanitarian workers in South East Asia, Tiffany is searching for new ideas of home and place. She took an early interest in interior design before finding it limiting and switching to a career in the arts. Interiors and design still influence her work. She loves the comedic and absurd. Tiffany was a founding member of the artist collective HOMECOMING! COMMITTEE and a former member of the Dallas artist-run coop 500X.


Tiffany has served as the Assistant Curator of Education for studio programs at the Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth for 10 years. Tiffany received a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Texas Christian University and a Master of Fine Arts from Southern Methodist University.

 

Eligibility: Open to multigenerational makers. All media—including oils, acrylics, watercolors, pastels, drawings, sculpture in any medium, collage, printmaking, photography—will be considered. Work must be no more than 60 inches (60”) in any direction, including the framing or mounting. The size given for works should be the framed size. Height must be given before width regardless of whether the work is a vertical or horizontal piece. The artwork may represent any subject matter. Works on paper must be framed under plexiglass or glass—plexiglass is preferred. Please respect these eligibility requirements.

 

Fees: $30 for one to five images of artwork

 

Important dates:

  • Submission Deadline: February 13, 2022
  • Notification to Artists: February 21, 2022
  • Artwork Due to Art Room/Arts Fort Worth: February 28, 2022
  • Exhibition Dates: March 4 – 26, 2022
  • Artwork Return: Week of March  27, 2022

 

Requirements: Please submit images with the following specifications:

  • 72 ppi
  • 800 pixels on the longest side
  • No borders around the image
  • JPEG file format

 

Label your image files with a corresponding entry number, your last name, and the title of the artwork—if it is a long title, you may use a keyword or abbreviation (i.e. 01Baker_Homeplace.tif).

 

Please include the following with your entry: Title, Medium, Scale (h x w inches), Date, Price.

Art Room presents its annual juried exhibition Now | Contemporary 2022 at Arts Fort Worth, which features a compelling group of artworks in a variety of media. The exhibition showcases work by Paul Armstrong, Lane Banks, Kimberlea Bass, Carol Benson, Michael Burns, Randall Day, Hector Del Campo, Mckee Frazior, Sara Ishii, Katie McKay Jones, Carlos Ocando, Raul Rodriguez, Abbie Stellar, Kathleen Thum, Amye Wake, and Matthew Wood. The show runs from March 4 through 26, 2022.

You can tell a lot about Art Room’s character by the way they are helping change young creatives' lives. Through their workshops, programs, mentoring and much more, they are helping to cultivate the next generation of artists.
